DOWN IN LOUISIANA is one of my favorite of all the SONNY LANDRETH albums. It has such an original flavor. All the musicans on this album were some of the finest I've ever heard. Mike Binet on drums and Mel Melton on harp and vocals are not currently playing with Sonny Landreth and Dave Ranson. They had a unique blend and creative response while working together. I also want to mention that this version of CONGO SQUARE is the original; and STILL the BEST. This is the album that started it all for SONNY LANDRETH; I can certainly see why
